This was our 2nd visit to King Ash Bay, the timing was good and the weather was great and no floods. We had not sooner pulled into camp and half the town knew where back again.
Set up camp temporarily as the folks with a big tent camp on the river bank were leaving next day - we sure lucked in!
By the way this Diamond broke Sue's 7 weight fly rod, but I managed to splice it back together, and caught many more fish!
The motor homer's do have a tinnie and love FISH! Our freezer full!
Will need to get a birding ID book
All our friends came out to see us off and the motor's homer's were ready to move into our camp site. We later meet up with Fred, Claire, Derick & Cheryl in Katherine a week later.
A small world, Derick & Cheryl recongnised our Thai flag, where you from Songkhla. We have been there our daughter was teaching there three years ago, we stayed a month. On seeing the daughter photo we had meet her at several parties around town.
We also meet up with Pete & Viv from Renmak who where camped at Spalding Cove in Early April at the King Ash Bay club bar. Dropped off several fish next day.
Yeah, Bill and Lou had to hang around home for Mothers Day, then broke a spring when they hit white ant hill on the road shoulder getting off the one lane black top on the Barkley Hwy for a road train. Any way we got their new Sat. TV working before we departed.
Off to Darwin to Park the Bushtracker for 6 weeks.
